It was a good day on the bands today as I finally broke my 1K miles per watt barrier to Brazil at 6830.3 miles for OE9APV/PP5. The two JA1 stations that called me had to work me off the back corner of the beam as the rotor is stuck on east. It may have a bad capacitor in the controller. They must have wonderful antenna systems in Japan. I had the privilege of working a Softrock SDR 40 and a Flex 1000 SDR and both had absolutely horrid raspy sounding cw notes. Both use the Flex software. They must get something changed or they will lose the cw guys.

Two days to go and it will be history for this year – CW FOREVER!

Stan.
