WOW! What a pileup all across the band on 20 and 40 meters. CW speed was 25 – 30 wpm. I’m a 20 wpm guy so this was very difficult for me. I would copy down about 3 letters and on the next call I would copy down the next 2-3 letters, etc., etc. until I would have the complete text. I got Briane Edwards in Texas, W5KFT on 40 meters at 6:30UTC and Joseph Barr in Hawaii at 6:58 on 40 meters, and then……. my 706 totally shut down, but only the CW mode. I could hear, but zero output on the transmitter.
Have to send the radio to HRO for repair $$$$$$$$
